F1 2023 - BRAKING POINT

REALTIME built on the success of the cinematics they created for the previous installment of the Braking Point story mode in F1 ® 21 by using state of the art, integrated 4D facial capture from Di4D during the motion capture shoot. This allowed us to encapsulate all the necessary character (physical, audio and spatial) data into a single performative instance.

Working closely with developer Codemasters on an hour of in-game career mode cinematics, my role in REALTIME Editorial was responsible for:

  • ensuring the integrity of sequence data from pre-vis and motion capture shoot to final delivery

  • communicating with vendors and stakeholders regarding changes to the script and run-time

  • Packing assets IN & OUT for multiple clients, contractors, asset delivery and sound design

  • mustering daillies (AM & PM) for creative review on latest round of renders

  • primarily using Adobe Premiere Pro for editorial and post-production

  • using After Effects to manage colour workflows from Unreal Engine to post for final delivery

  • applying environmental fx with spatial data baked in .EXR

  • delivering ProRes 422 HQX exports from path-traced, UHD, .EXR renders.
